Hello and welcome to the Interlaken family Although Interlaken itself is only a few years old, and we have only been breeding for the last five years. Maureen (myself) began the family over 30 years ago with my first GDS Gemma a shortcoat black/tan. A few years later I got Kim a longcoat from Ray Andrews ( A dog show breeder) who suggested that she'd make a good working dog. This was the real beginning with me training, at first twice a week at clubs, and several times daily at home. It wasn't long before I was doing shows, and sailed through beginners and novice. Probably not as easy as that, but it was a long time ago. We were best place 2nd in A, and was asked to represent the South West League at Crufts, but unfortunately my back gave out. After nearly a year out I found it a struggle to put half the necessary effort to get back up to standard. It was about then I got Lance (another lovely longcoat) giving me my third dog. I kept training doing more less serious shows. This went on for years with my family growing regularly with a new dog every now and again. About 2001 I met Roger, who also had a small family of dogs including GSD's. Shock horror between us we had ten dogs. Not what either intended, but it just happened. Anyway two large families became one huge one. We got married please our neighbours by selling our houses in Bristol and moved to the country in Dursley. When we first met we both had longcoat white females and it wasn't long before we decided to try breeding dogs. In the last five years we have had four litters. I am also a committee member of the German Shepherd Club of Bristol, which I have been for the last five years. Taking the family name Interlaken in 2004.
